Get to Know Landry
Born and raised in Kansas City, Missouri, Landry comes from humble beginnings. He is the only child of a single mother who worked tirelessly to make ends meet. Landry is very close with his mom, Melanie and with his uncle, Tyler who introduced him to basketball as a kid. Shamet attended Wichita State University from 2015-2018, where he earned MVP Freshman of the Year, two first team All-Conference honors, and led the Shockers to two NCAA tournament appearances.
After his sophomore year he was drafted 26th overall by the Philadelphia 76ers in the 2018 NBA Draft. Shamet made an impact immediately in his first season in the NBA. Shamet has spent time playing with the Brooklyn Nets as well as the 64-win Phoenix Suns where he has made an impact on each and every team. Currently on the Washington Wizards for his first season, Landry is back on the court ready to beat his best records yet.
